    The General Directorate for the Regulation of the Postal Sector
    This consultation outlines the guiding principles and criteria behind European regulations in the sector, providing all information necessary to the transposition of Directive 2008/6/EC, which must be completed no later than December 31, 2010.

    The consultation calls on the industry, professional associations, trade unions and consumer associations to contribute by expressing their opinions on major postal market issues.

    The Vice-minister for Economic Development delegated to Communications, Paolo Romani, and Upi President, Giuseppe Castiglione, signed the Protocol of Understanding to promote development, information, education, sensitization activities for the execution of broadband networks and reduction of the digital divide. After signing agreements with almost all the Italian Regions (apart from Valle D'Aosta and the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano), now the National Plan on Broadband begins to work also in the Italian provinces: a plan to set to zero the national digital divide taking broadband to 13% of citizens excluded from this service. According to the Ministry, thanks to this project in 2010 the network will be available to 3,2 million Italians.

    SCHEDULE FOR 2010 DIGITAL TV SWITCH OVER DEFINED [/english_version/english_news/pagina69.html]

    The proposed switch off of analogical TV and the transition to digital technology, submitted during a meeting of CNID – National Committee for Digital Italy – held today by the Vice-minister of Communications, Paolo Romani, was accepted and welcomed by delegates of the regions of Lombardy, Piedmont, Liguria, Emilia Romagna, Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia; national networks such as Rai, Mediaset, Telecom Italia Media, Sky, Prima Tv, Rete Capri and Rete 4 and associations of local TVs Frt and Areanti-Corallo; CNCU- National Council Users and Consumers; associations of producers and distributors of electronic equipment ANITEC-Confindustria and AIRES. In agreement with all the parties, the 2010 swtichover to digital TV was scheduled.
